Here are the answers to eight of the most frequently asked questions from the UOC community.
What will I find in the UOC Library?
You'll find digital resources including books, videos, journals, UOC learning resources, degree final projects and recommended reading, available 24 hours a day, all year round. It also contains services to help you find information, useful content for your work, such as examples for correct citations and guidelines to avoid plagiarism; and library guides – guides with a selection of sources of information on topics including cryptocurrencies, speech therapy and climate change. If you want to improve your search for information, you can access BiblioSkills, a training website with seminars and content for self-training.
How do I access the Library's resources?
You can access them by either clicking on the Library tab of the main menu of the Campus, or by typing the URL biblioteca.uoc.edu into your browser. The search engine is your gateway to all the information, and you can use it to search by title, author and keywords. All you have to do to access the content is log in with your UOC login details.
I need statistics, rules, laws or specific articles for my work. How can I find them?
As well as the information you can find in the search engine, you have access to databases and platforms specializing in various study areas. This is on the Search the digital collection by field page. Choose your programme's field in the Filter by study area field to see which resources we recommend. If you already know the name of the resource you're looking for, such as Aranzadi or vLex, type its name in the Search by name or keyword field, click on the result and then Access the resource on the new page that will open.
How can I cite sources of information such as a video game or an AI tool in my work?
See the Library's citation guide to find out how to cite sources correctly in your work. It contains the guidelines for following the most widely used styles, such as APA, ISO and Chicago, with practical examples so you can apply them easily.
I can't find a document in the Library. What do I do?
If you can't find a document in the Library, make sure you've entered the correct details (the title and author). Then click on Extend your search to other libraries at the top of the search engine. This will let you extend your search to other Spanish and international libraries. You'll be able to receive articles and chapters in digital format in your email within 24 business hours in many cases.
Can I download a book from the Library?
That depends on the book and its access conditions. Many of the UOC Library's digital books can be downloaded or read online, but some are subject to restrictions for full downloading, depending on the publishers. Find out more about ebooks at the UOC.
How can I publish my project in the UOC's institutional repository?
Upload your degree final project only when you have received confirmation from the teaching team. To publish it, log in with your credentials and follow the instructions to upload the document. After you have uploaded your project, it will be reviewed by the UOC team and published in the repository for the university community.
