Always check each answer against the original sources to make sure that it is complete and correct.

If you need to search for information for your work, use the Library's regular search engine.

The UOC Library is participating with 17 other international institutions in a pilot test to train a generative AI search assistant.

The pilot test will show us whether the Research Assistant improves the experience and results of looking for information with the Library search engine.

Any member of the UOC community can test and rate it, and the period for doing do lasts until the end of the year.

What can the assistant help me do?

You can use this tool, based on ChatGPT technology, to ask questions in natural languages including Catalan, Spanish and English, and obtain answers generated from the abstracts of the texts in the search engine.

You can also access the full text of the sources if they are available in open access or if the Library subscribes to them.

The search assistant being tested is in training and improves the more it is used, but currently it still has limitations.

The answers it gives may contain errors, as can happen with any generative artificial intelligence tool. It is important to always check the summaries generated by the search engine against the original sources to make sure that it is complete and correct.

If you need to search for information for your work, use the Library's regular search engine.
