The Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), as a result of the agreement that the Catalan universities have signed to join the ORCID project, encourages all its academic and research staff to sign up for and use the unique personal identification code provided by the ORCID platform.

The ORCID ID unique identifier ensures unequivocal identification of each and every researcher and helps identify and retrieve their scientific output. The UOC recommends that when getting an ORCID code users also add it to the GIR - Research Portal, the UOC’s comprehensive research management tool.

You can find more information on the ORCID code in the UOC Library. You can also find information in the Library on how to sign up and get a code and on how to add it to GIR.

If you have any doubts, you can contact the Library via the Standardization of Authors’ Names service.
