The National Institute for Digital Learning has honoured two ETHE journal articles with a place in its top 10

Dublin City University's National Institute for Digital Learning (NIDL) has released the results of its third annual top 10 selection of open access journal articles in the field of e-learning.

Articles published in the International Journal of Education Technology in Higher Education (ETHE) have once again made it onto the list this year.
 

• Taking third is one of the articles from the ETHE's most recent dossier: “Dawn or dusk of the 5th age of research in educational technology? A literature review on (e-)leadership for technology-enhanced learning in higher education (2013-2017)”, penned by Albert Sangrà and Deborah Arnold from the UOC's research group, EDUL@B.

• In seventh we find “Higher education dominance and siloed knowledge: a systematic review of flipped classroom research”, co-authored by University of Gothenburg experts Mona Lundin, Annika Bergviken Rensfeldt, Thomas Hillman, Annika Lantz-Andersson and Louise Peterson.

The ETHE is not a stranger to the NIDL's top 10 selection. In 2017, one of its articles, entitled “Gamifying education: what is known, what is believed and what remains uncertain: a critical review”, came in at number 10. It has been accessed almost 15 thousand times to date and boasts wide circulation on social media, registering an altmetric attention score of 128.

The NIDL selects articles centred on e-learning in higher education that are published in open access journals and have an international focus or relevance. Strong preference is given to articles offering major literature reviews and those addressing major gaps in this field of research.
