Journalism awarded 2025 Pulitzer prizes available at the Library

Would you like to read the Pulitzer Prize-winning articles? These prizes, awarded by Columbia University, recognize the best pieces of American journalism in various categories each year. You can read them in the UOC Library: you can look at news items, reports, features and photojournalism on various digital platforms.
You will find leading newspapers including The New York Times, which won four awards in the 15 categories, The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal. Take the opportunity to find out how leading international newspapers deal with news and current affairs.
The Pulitzer prizewinners in 2025
- Breaking News Reporting. The Washington Post newspaper received a prize for its coverage of the attempted assassination of the then-presidential candidate Donald Trump at a rally. The Librar contains the reports that it published.
- Breaking News Photography. The New York Times received the prize for the best photograph for its images the attempted assassination. Visit the award-winning photograph.
- Public Service. The prize went to the non-profit organization ProPublica, for its series of reports entitled Life of the Mother, about how restrictions on abortion have put the lives of pregnant women at risk. You can read this and other ProPublica reports on the ProQuest Central platform.
- Explanatory Reporting. The prize went to The New York Times for its authoritative examination of the United States' presence in Afghanistan. You can read articles by the authors on this topic at ProQuest Central.
- International Reporting. The prize went to the staff of The New York Times for their investigation of the conflict in Sudan and the illegal gold trade. You can find the reports in the UOC Library, on the ProQuest Central platform.
- Local Reporting. The prize was awarded to The Baltimore Banner and The New York Times for an investigative series on the fentanyl crisis in Baltimore. Read the three reports by accessing the Factiva news platform.
- National Reporting. The prize went to the team at The Wall Street Journal, for its reports on Elon Musk's personal and political changes. This report is available on ProQuest Central.
- Commentary. The prize was awarded to Mosab Abu Toha, a contributor to The New Yorker, for his essays on the armed conflict in Gaza. Read this author's essays in the Library.
