Get to know the Library search engine

When you use the Library's search engine, information from most databases will already appear in the results. However, there are some exceptions, such as legal information databases like Aranzadi.

To access their contents, you need to enter the platform. To do this, type the database's name into the Library's search engine. For example, "Aranzadi". You will find it among the first search results.

Then, click on the Available Online button to consult the selected database

If you want to know which databases are available, go to the Digital collection by field page.

To refine your results, use Filter by study area. Open the drop-down list to select the study area.

Or, if you already know the name of the platform, type its name in the search engine on the page.

This search engine allows you to search for the name of the database. To consult the contents you have to click on the database and a new page will open. Click Resource access.

Many of the resources produced by the UOC for its courses can be found in the Library's search engine.

See what teaching materials are available for a course by selecting the UOC Learning resources option from the drop-down list in the search box.

Type the keywords in the search box. For example, "corporate communication".

The Learning Resources filter at the side can be used to refine your search even further; select a course name and you will see all the resources available for that classroom.

Then, click on the Apply Filters button.

View the resource you are interested in by clicking on the Available Online button.

On the screen that opens up, click Available Online / UOC Learning Resources to view the resource.

In the UOC Library you can find doctoral theses on different subject areas.

• Type in your keywords in the search box of the Library search tool. On the results page, use the filters on the left-hand side to refine the results. Select the Type of Resource / Dissertations filter.

• Also enable the Availability / Online filter.

• With the Subject filter, you can choose the subject area of the doctoral thesis.

To view the most current theses on a specific field, sort the results by clicking on Sort by / Date-newest.

Then click on the Apply Filters button at the bottom.

To consult the thesis you are interested in, click on the Available Online option. Then click on the Apply Filters button at the bottom.

The search tool retrieves UOC theses deposited in the O2 institutional repository and other available Library collections.

At the Library we have a catalogue of Final Projects that you can consult whenever you need it. Type the keywords in the Library search box. On the results page, use the filters on the left-hand side to refine the results. For example, "video games". Click on the Final Projects button in the search box.

Also activate the Availability / Online filter.

Use the Sort by / Date - Newest filter to view the most current projects on the topic of your choice.

With the Subject filter, you can choose the subject area of your project.

Then click on the Apply Filters button at the bottom.

Consult the project you are interested in by clicking on the Available Online button and you will open a new page of the university's O2 institutional repository.

From here you can download the PDF of the project by clicking on the View/Open button.

The recommended reading list is the set of reference materials that the teaching staff suggest to students to help them learn more about the subjects covered in the courses. To see the recommended reading list, first select the UOC Recommended reading option from the drop-down list in the search box.

You can start by typing in a keyword for the resource or the name of the course. For example, "corporate communication".

Now, use the Recommended bibliography filter on the side to consult the resources specific to a course. Choose, for example, the Digital Communication and Online Reputation classroom.

Then, click on the Apply Filters button.

The resources shown are those recommended by the teaching staff.

Open the resource you are interested in by clicking on the Available Online button.

In the UOC Library you can find images that we make available to you. Click the Images button in the search tool.

On the results page, use the filters on the left-hand side to refine the results. For example, the Author or the Creation Date.

Then, click on the Apply Filters button.

Click on the image you are interested in and click on Available Online to view the image.

In addition to the search tool, you will find the available image collections on the Library's Search the digital collection by field page.

In the UOC Library you can find Videos that we make available to you. Click the Videos button in the search tool.

On the results page, use the filters on the left-hand side to refine the results. For example, the Author or the Creation Date.

Then, click on the Apply Filters button.

Click on the image you are interested in and click on Available Online to view the image.

In addition to the search tool, you will find the available image collections on the Library's Search the digital collection by field page.
