Three new Nature Research journals added to the UOC Library
Subject: Multidisciplinary28/01/21«Nature Food», «Nature Cancer» and «Nature Reviews Earth & Environment» analyse some of the major global challenges of our times.
The UOC Library has broadened its range of journals from prestigious publisher Nature Research with three new titles. These are its most recent academic journals, in print for just one year, and which all have one thing in common: their focus on the most pressing challenges facing society today.
Even though the journals' publisher is specialized in science, technology and medicine, thanks to these new titles' subject matter and interdisciplinary approach, they may also be of interest to students and researchers within the field of social sciences.
This monthly journal publishes research articles, reviews, news and opinion pieces on issues such as the fight against hunger and obesity, food production and distribution, the food economy and food science and nutrition.
It could be a good source of information for those looking for content on nutrition and health, or food, physical activity and sports, and also for anyone wishing to analyse food logistics issues. In fact, some recent articles have looked at gels and oleogels, and the vulnerability of the food supply chain during the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The latest issue of Nature Food focuses on the link between crop diversity, agricultural management and environmental factors as a key factor in developing sustainable systems.
If you would like more information on the journal's content, you can take a look at the collection of articles which the editorial team have compiled to celebrate their first anniversary.
This publication serves as a springboard, bringing together the most relevant contents on research in Earth sciences, the environment and their reciprocal relationship with society.
Its articles may be of interest to anyone looking to increase their knowledge of sustainable city and spatial planning and management, environmental law or best practices in the production cycle in terms of corporate social responsibility.
Over the course of its 12 issues it has dealt with subjects such as the environmental impact of fast fashion, the effects of climate change on tropical fish, or effective management against forest fires, to give just a few examples.

This international forum has the latest advances in all fields of cancer research. The articles focus on three main areas: cancer biology, the cancer genome and translational and clinical research. There are also news stories and opinion pieces.
It may be of interest to those studying nutrition and public health, subjects related to food and physical activity or common illnesses, or for designing and co-creating e-health solutions.
The January issue features a selection of articles published so far, for example, a work analysing the impact of COVID on cancer diagnosis and treatment.
In addition to these three journals, you can use the UOC Library search engine or the Nature Complete platform to find articles in any of Nature Research's iconic publications, which include some 40 journals filled with research and reviews and other academic publications associated with the group.
