This dossier offers a look at the works of Manuel Castells, a Sociology professor for the UOC.

To celebrate the start of the 2017/2018 academic year, the UOC Library has compiled a dossier of the works of UOC professor Manuel Castells, who is giving the inaugural lecture: ‘The University in the Information Age’.

Manuel Castells is a professor of Sociology at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). He is also University Professor and the Wallis Annenberg Chair in Communication Technology and Society at the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles. Furthermore he is Professor of City and Regional Planning at the University of California, Berkeley, where he taught for twenty-four years, fellow of St. John's College of the University of Cambridge, and holds the Chair of the Network Society at the Collège d'Études Mondiales, Paris.
