With the AENORmás collection, you have access to 30,000 standards with technical guidelines, written to improve organizations' quality and safety.

Have you ever heard of the ISO citation style? The guidelines given in standard UNE-ISO 690:2013, approved by an international standards organization, are commonly used as the style guide for writing reference lists in academic papers. While its use is not mandatory, this type of standard provides a roadmap for organizations because it defines the conditions and characteristics that are accepted within different professional sectors.

More than 30,000 standards like these can be consulted through the Library's AENORmás collection. It includes the texts approved by the Spanish Association for Standardization (UNE) and also other texts adopted by European or international bodies, such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

Recently, the Crue Universidades Españolas and the Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification signed an agreement to promote knowledge and use of the AENORmás catalogue among the university community. One of the benefits gained from this agreement has been the possibility of downloading the standards directly in PDF. Until now, they could only be consulted online.

What applications do the standards have?

The UNE standards can be consulted in the Library using the same Virtual Campus passwords, and they are also used as a learning resource in some UOC classrooms.

For example, in the courses offered by the Faculty of Economics and Business, you can consult standard UNE-ISO-26000, a guide on social responsibility, which helps organizations go beyond laws and basic duties to contribute effectively to sustainable development. The same faculty also uses standard UNE-EN ISO 10075-3:2005 on occupational risk prevention to define ergonomic and psychosocial principles applicable to the design of optimal work conditions.

Among the learning materials provided by the Faculty of Computer Science, Multimedia and Telecommunications, you will find the text of standard UNE-EN ISO/IEC 27001:2017, with the requirements that an organization must follow to maintain and improve an information security management system.

As well as these classroom examples, you will also find standards related with different professional sectors in AENORmás. For example, the guides on the accessible design of web contents, the requirements for developing a RDI project, the quality standards that must be applied in a museum, or the requirements that must be followed in product packaging.

The collection also offers a series of specifications to enable organizations to adapt to and comply with COVID-19 security measures.

How can I find a standard?

Once you have entered AENORmás, simply enter the standard's code or title in the platform's search engine. There is also a filter so that the search only returns currently valid documents. The collection's content is updated automatically.

Or, if you prefer, you can browse among the available collections until you have found the particular standards you are interested in. In this case, choose the option Complete collection of UNE standards.
