Do you need data or a chart? Find it in seconds with this AI tool
Subject: Multidisciplinary
Save hours of searching with the Statista platform AI assistant.
Ask it about market trends, health, technology or general information.
Here we present some of the AI tools currently available from the services the Library subscribes to.
More than once you must have found yourself needing a specific piece of data, a statistic or a chart for an activity, an article or a presentation. Searching for it can be slow and sometimes frustrating. To respond to this challenge, the Statista platform has launched Research AI, a generative artificial intelligence search assistant which can give you an answer from reliable, verified sources in just a few seconds.
Statista is one of the largest statistics platforms in the world. The Statista team collects and verifies information from thousands of sources. It always specifies where every data item has come from, so you can go to the original source for more information, if you need it.
What can you ask the Statista tool?
You can consult it on almost any subject and in any language. You can examine market trends and see how the numbers are changing for markets and sectors such as technology, health and education. Test it with questions such as "What impact does the use of social media have on adolescents' mental health?" "What are the most visited museums in the world?" or "What are the eating habits of a population?".
How does it work?
When you have asked your question, the tool gives you a page with all the information:
-
Your question
The question you have asked appears and, if necessary, you can modify it or go into more detail.
-
Key data
The tool highlights some charts or data and includes a link to the source.
-
The answer
You will receive a text written in the same language as your question. Each statement cites the original source so that you can check it or obtain further information.
-
List of sources
You will find a list of charts, reports or infographics that the assistant has used to build its response, with links in case you want to check them.
-
Quick options
Just below the answer, you'll find buttons to generate a new answer, or to copy the text and paste it into your document easily.
-
Recommended questions
The tool suggests other questions related to the topic in case you want to investigate further.

Start using it in three steps:
- You can access Statista in two ways. The first is to go to the Library's search engine, type "Statista" in the search box, click on the title of the first result and press the blue "Available online" button. Another option is to go directly to "Search the digital collection by field", look for "Statista" and click on "Access the resource".
- In either case, you will have to identify yourself with your UOC username and password in order to access the platform.
- When you have logged in, click on the Research AI tab at the top to start asking questions.
