Search engines are very useful for finding information. In terms of open educational resources (OER), search engines aid use and re-use of academic and teaching materials. This dossier contains the leading open educational resource search engines, both general and for the UOC’s specific subject areas.
OER Search engines
MDX (Learning Materials Online) is a cooperative repository that contains digital materials and resources resulting from teaching activities carried out in member universities. The purpose of MDX is to make the participant institutions' teaching output more visible and widespread, thereby contributing to both educational innovation and free access to knowledge.
The ARIADNE infrastructure provides access to thousands of learning resources from repositories and collections around the world. Hosts repositories for collaborating institutions that use the ARIADNE tools to set up and populate their repositories by means of the ARIADNE infrastructure.
A collection of online courses, in both audio and video format, taught at the most prestigious universities in the world, including 250 free courses in both the humanities and sciences.

Database of e-books in the public domain, so they can be reused without restrictions. Searches can be done by author or by title of work. Most documents are written in English.
The Biblioteca Virtual Miguel de Cervantes offers access to open access ebooks in Spanish language in public domain, so they can be reused without restrictions. You will find ebooks from the fields of literature, language and history.
