What do the commissions for Niu teaching design consultancy and content curation involve?

  1. Draft the teaching project document (following the instructions of the coordinating professor), including, among others, the drafting of the challenges, the allocation of competencies and the drafting of learning results, and a proposal for related practical activities.

This may involve participating, with the coordination and approval of the coordinating professor, in the definition and suitability of the learning plan, the continuous assessment resources and the in-house and third-party teaching resources, which will be necessary to successfully complete the practical activities of the course.
  2. Provide advice on the selection of experts for the UOC in-house learning resources authorship order, and help coordinate and monitor the creation process of these resources which the UOC commissions from an expert on the basic subject of the course, in order to ensure coherence with the design of the course and the rest of the learning resources (in-house and/or external).

  1. Prepare a compilation of learning resources (include link to the model) which presents a critical selection of relevant contents and sources for the development of the learning activities of the course. The compilation may present one or more thematic selections in accordance with the instructions of the coordinating professor.
  2. Prepare reviews and/or summaries of each of the previously selected resources and provide information on the use that the student is expected to make of them, as well as the resource's relationship to the activity and/or the rest of the resources (Guidelines).

An authorship commissioning contract is signed, involving the delivery of a deliverable for each of the two types of order.

This assignment cannot be made to a responsible and/or associated Teacher.

*The figures for consultancy and curation are limited to: 1 consultancy per teaching project and 1 curation per assessable activity.

If you consider it necessary, as the course's coordinating professor, you can commission learning resources from Learning Resource Requests (PERA).

  • Select the course and the semester for which you want to place the order.
  • Click on + New request.
  • In the new request, enter the following information:

NB: It is very important that you select Send to Library so that your request reaches the Library staff.

Once all the information has been received, the Learning Resources staff will look over and respond to your request.

The author of the resource will receive a message and be able to access the Virtual Campus. It is important that they provide their personal details, usual postal address and bank details, or check that these are correct if we already have them. Likewise, when they receive the authorship contract, they can sign it using their Campus password.

Both orders can be made throughout the design consultancy period. Specifically:

  1. The teaching design consultancy order can be requested at the beginning of the course design process, for courses newly deployed in the Niu-challenge model or for courses from the renewal plan.

Deadline to submit formal consultancy order:
    > Semester 1: 15 January
    > Semester 2: 30 April
  2. The order for the curation for the Niu learning resource can be requested once the number of activities which will make up the course has been defined in the design (teaching project).

Deadline to submit formal curation order for the Niu learning resource:
    > Semester 1: 15 January
    > Semester 2: 30 April

The document that needs to be submitted for each commission is the Teaching Project, in which the course design has been worked on.

This document must be submitted using the Learning Resource Requests tool, via the Submission of originals option.

The coordinating professors are responsible for confirming that the Teaching Project submitted has the information for the commission.
