She works alongside research staff, providing support throughout the research process, from searching for and managing information to assessing the quality of their scientific output.

Education and professional career

Maia's career is linked to music and research. She has a music degree from the Municipal Conservatory of Barcelona, a postgraduate diploma in Web 2.0, Communities, Social Networks and Video on the Internet (IDEC-UPF) and a master's degree in Music Technology from the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, The Netherlands.

She began her professional career in the publishing sector, as an author and editor. From 2016 to 2021 she was data manager at the Leiden University Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) in The Hague, where she developed her expertise in the design of quality indicators for scientific output, the advanced handling of bibliometric data and general data management.

Personal interests

Playing classical music on piano, live coding, yoga, and caring for plants.
