What AI functions are there in Ebook Central?
- Go to the Ebook Central platform. You can access it by entering its name in the Library search tool or the Search by name or keyword field on the Search the digital collection by field page. Log in with your Virtual Campus credentials.
- Once signed in, on the main page, try a first search, using your own words. It uses artificial intelligence to automatically generate suggestions for specialized search terms. As you select items, the suggestions will be updated to help you refine or broaden your search.

In the list of results, click a title you're interested in. A new page will open with information about the document. In the right sidebar, you'll find the Research Assistant tool with a summary of the article's main conclusions.
- Lower down, the Research Assistant also suggests other related sources of information or offers you a list of subjects to broaden your search and explore other relevant content.

You can also ask the tool to recommend research topics or highlight the key points covered in the article to study its content in greater depth.

What language can I do the search in?
In any language. However, bear in mind that most scientific and academic publications are written or indexed in English. Consequently, you may retrieve many more results if you perform the search in English.
You also have the Language filter to delimit your results.

How does the Library search engine work?
Follow these steps to find information:
- Enter the Library's search engine and write the keywords, the title of the content or the author's name and surname in the search box.
The search engine retrieves content including books, articles, journals, videos, images, degree final projects, UOC learning resources and recommended reading by the teaching staff in the classrooms.
- Use the filters in the sidebar (type of content, date, language, etc.).
- Click on Available online to access the content.
- Improve your results with our search tips.
