La Sociología urbana de Manuel Castells

This book spans the different stages of Manuel Castells’s research on cities and urbanism from the 1970s until today through a selection of texts chosen and annotated by Ida Susser. The texts cover topics such as urban structure and the regional dynamic, immigration, the urban duality, urban social movements, the relationship between information technology and urban-regional development, and the emergence of new forms of urban development at the global level. The work ends with a conclusion, written by Castells especially for this volume, in which he highlights the issues he considers crucial for the 21st century.
