This event will allow the UOC's new management model to guarantee the quality of its scientific journals to be shared with librarians, archivists and publishers of scientific journals from universities in Latin America, the Caribbean and Spain. The UOC's scientific journals are published in open access.
The document, with a foreword by Dr Marta Aymerich, Vice President for Strategic Planning and Research, covers the need to draw up a management plan for each publication based on strategic pillars; quality; communication; visibility and indexing; and transparency and social responsibility; as well as a budget management framework and the observation of the corresponding legal framework.
The publication of this protocol coincides with the start of a new era for the International Journal of Educational Technology in Higher Education (ETHE), which the UOC publishes on e-learning in the university setting and which joins the Springer publishing group.
In accordance with the UOC's open access policy, the academic journal protocol is published in open access in Catalan and Spanish and is accessible from O2, the institutional repository. The UOC's scientific journal protocol is the first piece of what will be the new scientific journal portal scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2016.
