Use SABI to review companies' annual accounts for financial analysis

With access to company accounts, students can learn about economic and financial analysis
SABI is a database containing information on more than 2.5 million companies
The university community can now access scanned copies of the annual accounts that Spanish companies file with the Commercial Registry. This information can be used for coursework or research in areas such as economic and financial analysis. The accounts are accessible through SABI, a platform that provides data on thousands of companies.
What do they contain?
Depending on the type of company:
- Balance sheet of the company's economic and financial situation.
- Profit and loss account, showing income and expenditure.
- Activity report.
- Management report.
- Audit report on the annual accounts.
From 2025, sustainability reports will also be included for companies that are required to produce one.
This information is particularly useful for students preparing assignments that require financial analysis based on a company's annual accounts.
In some courses in the Faculty of Economics and Business, students also take on the role of financial professionals as part of their activities and are required to analyse and interpret the financial statements of customers, suppliers or potential investments. Access to the accounts can be obtained for a fee from the Commercial Registry or through specialist databases such as SABI.
How to get access
The reports can be viewed online or downloaded in PDF format.
Take note! There is a weekly download limit, so we recommend you only download the reports you need for study or research.
- Access the SABI platform. Search for it in the Library's search engine or on the Search the digital collection by field page.
- Once there, click on the Company name option, type the name in the search box and click on Search.
- Select the company and click on OK (at the bottom).
- A new tab will open. Click on View the report (at the bottom).
- On the new page, select Accounts (right-hand menu).
- Select the year of the report that you wish to consult.
- You can view the report online, save or print it.
