There's a lot of talk about artificial intelligence (AI), and generative AI in particular. There's something in the news about it every week, and a simple Google search throws up millions of results. How can you find reliable sources in the midst of this overwhelming amount of information? We've produced AI and innovation: a new horizon, a reference site with reliable content selected by the team at the UOC Library to help you understand the technology, and use it critically and responsibly.
What will you find?
- Keeping up to date: news and library guides produced by the Library, as well as articles, books and reports to understand the impact of AI in the academic and professional spheres.
- Guides and resources about prompts: practical information for using tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT and Gemini. There is also content produced by the Library team and content selected from other sources. For example, you'll find two infographics: one with basic guidelines and examples for creating a good prompt and another with the most common uses of AI in learning. The contents produced have been revised by Montse Guitert, Teresa Romeu and Marc Romero, members of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences; Robert Clarisó, member of the Faculty of Computer Science, Multimedia and Telecommunications; and Guillem Garcia and Desirée Gómez, from the eLearning Innovation Center (eLinC).
- AI in the Library collection: an updated table with the AI features available in the databases and platforms that the Library subscribes to and which are available to the UOC community. From AI assistants for asking questions about content, to ideas for summarizing documents and tools offering personalized recommendations.
- Library projects: a showcase of the initiatives the Library is working on, with pilot projects in the testing phase to find out how AI can improve the Library's services. All these developments seek to balance innovation with a firm commitment to ethics and responsibility.
The site will be added to regularly to include new content offering you reliable and up-to-date information.
