On 5 April 2017, the period for filing your tax return began. Taxpayers have until midnight on 30 June to file their tax return for the 2016 tax year. This year, the Spanish tax authorities have replaced their software for taxpayers, the program PADRE, with Renta Web. This allows taxpayers to access tax procedures directly online through the website of the tax agency, from their PC, tablet or mobile phone, without the need to download any software.

There is still plenty of time to take care of all the necessary procedures for filing your tax return (check the taxpayers calendar with key dates) and, to make things easier for you, we suggest that you take a look at the dossier on tax law, where you will also find a selection of open-access resources.
